*Qu*illing time in quarantine!

Here are some fun things I did!

She...

...and he...

An Indian couple - quilling dolls!
These must have taken a good deal of time to make - say four hours each?
The process includes rolling quilling strips into the a) head, b) upper body, c) lower body - which in the case of the man, is two legs, and d) the other parts - like the hands, hair, and for the bride, even a nice long braid! The strips, once rolled and made into a flat circle, are pushed outwards from the centre to make them like cups. Next, these are covered in glue to make them sturdy. Then, the whole body is assembled together, and it's a tedious process! Oh and also, they can turn their heads.
Does the woman look dainty and delicate? She fell off my table onto the floor when I just completed her and not one part was broken! That's because quilling dolls are so sturdy even if they're just... paper!

Shrī rāma - watercolour painting.
This also took a while. I worked on it for an hour in the night and till the afternoon the next day.

Rādha and Krshna
Again a watercolour painting, but one which took longer than the previous one because there are two characters!

Applique embroidery!
This is a peacock I embroidered onto yellow cloth. Then, I stitched a cushion cover and used the same technique to attach the yellow cloth on the cover after hemming its edges. The peacock's body was rather easy to make, considering that it's small in size. The embellishments took long, though - the mirrors and frames, the pattern on the body, the feathers, etc. took a while, but as a whole, it was really a thrilling end result! I used about 25-30 crystal beads to decorate the body and exactly 25 mirrors for the peacock's feathers. Everything is stitched by hand.

A flipbook animation - the Dancing Girl. Having 26 frames, all hand-drawn, with each one's photograph taken and compiled into a single animation.

Another flipbook animation - the battle of the axe and arrow.
Refers to the battle Parashurāma and Bhīshma fought.

If there's more to life than Calvin and Hobbes, I don't know what it is! I actually drew these pictures with pencil from my copy of the Essential Calvin and Hobbes, outlined them with a black fine-liner, coloured them with coloured pencils, cut the picture out without any white background showing, and yeah. Then I stuck them on this. It's actually a cropped image of a kind of holder I was making for my whiteboard, and duh, of course I would not leave it like that, plain and lifeless, covered in brown paper, when I had.... CALVIN AND HOBBES!! Leave a comment down below Calvin and Hobbes fans!

Pista shell bracelets!
These were really easy to make, provided one has the patience to drill holes in those shells using a blade like me!

You don't need any skills to create art, you only need DOTS, and dot art proves this.
All you need to make a stunning mandala is a few round brushes or earbuds and some paint, and you're good to go!

Who's this? It's a little birdie I made from papier mache! The body was made in around three days including making the papier mache mixture, rolling, leaving overnight to dry, adhering head and body, again leaving it to dry at night, then painting in white before painting him in the colours he has! His feathers were cut from non-woven polypropylene and then painted with vibrant acrylic, sewn together and then adhered to the body (which was again painted with acrylic).

Whose eyes are these?
These are just the eyes, part of a portrait painted with...watercolour, of course. But whose portrait is this...?
